Chesapeake College: Small Business Development Center
The Maryland Small Business Development Center (MDSBDC) network is a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration and the University of Maryland, College Park. This Partnership links private enterprise, government, higher education and local economic development organizations to provide management training and technical assistance to Maryland's small business.
We are part of a national SBDC network that delivers assistance to strengthen small and medium sized business, thereby contributing to the growth of local, state and national economies.
The MDSBDC has a satellite office at Chesapeake College serving Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's and Talbot Counties. The host for the Eastern Region Headquarters is Salisbury State University. The Eastern Region also has a satellite office located at Cecil Community College.

Enterprise Zone Tax Incentives
For qualifying businesses located within the Enterprise Zone that business could be eligible for the following incentives:
•Income tax credits on new employees
•Property tax credits on new investments
•Access to State venture capital fund
•Special provisions for industrial bonds
•One-step permitting process
•Help with water lines, sewer lines and access roads
•Help in preparing financial packages
•Reimbursement of building permit fees and tappage fees for water and sewer
•Educational and job counseling opportunities as well as vocational training
Funds are provided through the State of Maryland in cooperation with the City of Cumberland and Allegany County.
